About Us

We believe in building childhood foundations. We do this by promoting positive attitudes for future school success. We offer childhood learning, which emphasizes literacy, mathematics, critical thinking, and social interaction.

Our Values

The belief in building childhood foundations is at the core of everything we do at Bangor Child Care Centers. For over 50 years, we’ve provided early education programs and daycare for young children in Bangor, PA. The foundations we help build are extremely valuable at the beginning of a child’s lifelong learning journey. Children, from the time they’re infants until they’re ready to begin kindergarten, learn more during these early, formative years than at any other point in life. This is why all children need to have a valuable learning experience early on.

Our Story

Our first location opened in 1969 and has served as the area’s leading child care and early education center ever since. In 2011, we opened our second location. We quickly found ourselves filling up with new students, and we were at full capacity for infants and school-age children within two years. At that point, we began seeking out local properties for sale in order to accommodate both growing centers. That brought us to the opening of our third location in June of 2016. Like our other facilities, our third and newest location also provides space for infants and school-age children. All three centers are fully operating with an on-site director at each location.

Our Faculty

At Bangor Child Care Centers, we believe in creating a bond between staff and administration. This helps us provide a well-balanced, harmonic atmosphere. Since teacher interaction is reflected in the classroom, the children can sense the emotions and excitement that our teachers produce. This is why, when determining whether an applicant is right for our team, we pay close attention not only to their credentials but also to their personalities and drive to make learning a fun experience.

I am a focused and dedicated employee to the owners and staff of Bangor Child Care Centers. Also, I am married and have two children, whom I dedicate all of my extra-curricular time to.

Areas of focus: I work on administrative duties, business management, and the daily operations of the Center. I also work closely with the staff to ensure that the classroom expectations and curricular activities are up to par and that the needs of the children are also met.

Favorite activity at work? Communicating with parents about how I can better meet their demands and expectations.

Why are you in child care? I feel that certain people are born with an instinct to educate children. Coming from parents who were former teachers, I grew up with the idea that learning can be fun.

What is your favorite activity after work? I am always with my husband and children either playing in the yard, visiting my in-laws’ farm on the weekends, or discovering the outdoors.

Vanessa Giaquinto | Bangor Child Care Centers

Vanessa Giaquinto - Director

11 years experience

  • B.S. Business Management
  • B.S. Early Childhood

I have an 11-year-old son, Joshua, who takes up a majority of my time between his sporting activities and trips we take together. I am a big family girl, who spends a lot of time with family on the weekends and doing things together.

Area of focus: I have been in almost every room in the center. During summertime, I am with the school-age children, while during the school year, my main focus is in one of our toddler rooms.

Favorite activity at work? I enjoy doing art projects with the children as well as learning new things from the children. I also enjoy being able to share my knowledge with the children.

Why are you in child care? Ever since I was little, I always wanted to be a teacher. Once I had my son and got a job in a daycare setting, I knew it was what I wanted and loved to do. I enjoyed the children’s company and their creativity, as well as what I could bring to the table for them. I feel as though I’m an important role model for these young children, and I enjoy that I can make a difference in their lives, and I’m teaching them the knowledge they will need as they get older.

What is your favorite activity after work? I enjoy watching my son play basketball and baseball, and I also play volleyball myself.

As I excelled into more of an administrative role, I found that I like the interaction with the parents, as well as the challenging daily operations of running a competitive business.
